For new parishioners and visitors to the parish, we invite you to leave your contact details on a contact card (supplied at each Mass Centre) with us so we can get in touch and keep you updated on news in the Parish.
Parish Mass centres are essential for the celebration of the Sacrament of the Eucharist and as a gathering place for prayer and the liturgies, such as weddings, baptisms, funerals and special devotional celebrations (St Nino and Blessing of the Fleet etc.).
We are a country regional city and as such many visitors come through on holidays or to meet with families, or for employment. The Parish Pastoral Council felt that it was necessary to form a small committee to organise volunteer welcomers to be present at all Masses and other celebrations.
In response to this need, a small band of volunteers are now present before all Masses in the parish to welcome newcomers and visitors.
Catholic celebrations of all kinds are, of their nature, communal, and participants should feel comfortable and welcome.
Jesus dined, prayed and conversed with all people no matter their situation in life, and they were all made welcome. Likewise, we should do the same to others.
We thank those parishioners who have undertaken this ministry, and whose cheery faces greet all churchgoers.
If you would like to become one of these volunteers, please contact Deacon Gary on 0429 333 720.
